CCM: Zhejiang Kaisn: electronic grade wet chemicals project OK’d in environmental protection acceptance check 05-16-2016

On 15 Feb., 2016, Zhejiang Kaisn Fluorochemical Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang Kaisn) announced that it had passed the environmental protection acceptance check conducted by the Quzhou Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau on its electronic grade wet chemicals project.

Accordingly, portfolio in the project spans electronic grade nitric acid (6,000 t/a), electronic grade hydrochloric acid (3,000 t/a) and electronic grade sulphuric acid (10,000 t/a).

“The project is a horizontal expansion based on the current electronic grade ammonium fluoride, electronic grade hydrogen fluoride (HF) and suchlike,” stated Zhejiang Kaisn, “We give play to the existing public facilities. Except the external purchase of fuming nitric acid, we self supply the other raw materials. Now the new production lines are running stably, production load at 97-98%.”

According to CCM’s research, its electronic grade HF project passed the environmental protection acceptance check in Dec. 2015, producing electronic grade HF (6,000 t/a) and by-producing chemical reagent grade HF (5,000 t/a).

About Zhejiang Kaisn

Founded in June 2003, it is a fully-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang Juhua), business spanning fluorite, HF, electronic chemicals and alternative energy materials.

In light of the overlapping market targeted by the new products and the current electronic grade HF, which will enable the company to horizontally expand the sales network, CCM believes that this will be favourable for Zhejiang Kaisn to optimise and expand its product structure, further solidify and improve its market position, and level up its brand recognition.

As a special chemical for microelectronics industry, electronic grade wet chemicals are mainly used in integrated circuit (IC) field. Its purity and cleanness have significant impact on the yield, electric properties and reliability of related finished products.

Currently, China is playing an important role in promoting the growth of the global IC market – output value of domestic IC industry is rising by 10-15% year by year, demanding for over 70,000 tonnes of electronic grade wet chemicals annually.

Though China is highly reliant on imported wet electronic grade chemicals, which can meet the high requirements from related finished products, like high quality, small use amount and cleanness during production and use, it also indicates a huge substitution potential – success in substitution will give boost to leading players.

In addition, Juhua Group Corporation, the controlling shareholder of Zhejiang Juhua, was elected to be the director-general of the China New Electronic Chemical Materials Industry Alliance in Nov. 2015. This will help Zhejiang Kaisn to expand the market and fully release its new production capacity.
